We’re super excited to be on the front page of today’s paper talking about marriage equality and Love is a Radical Act. This Saturday’s installation up in Olympia (and Sunday in Seattle) will be our biggest action before the election. Thanks to everyone for supporting those who engage in the radical act of love.
domestic violence awareness month at ywca
15 OctEarlier this month, we were invited to pass out hearts and share about Love is a Radical Act at the YWCA as part of their Purple Lights Ceremony, an event that raises awareness about domestic violence in our community and beyond. We were happy to share the message that with all of the hurtful relationships out there, we should always celebrate all families that are truly loving and supportive. Please, if any of your relationships are hurtful, do what needs to be done to fix it or leave.
upcoming installations: seattle & olympia
10 OctWe are excited to announce our first out-of-town installations! We will be in Olympia on Saturday, October 20, and Seattle on Sunday, October 21. Please join us!
As always, we stand for families and loving relationships of all kinds, but we are especially interested in promoting marriage equality during these installations, especially in Olympia, the heart of Washington politics and law.
installation event: love art gallery
3 OctWe appreciate the warm welcome we got on Saturday at Love Art Gallery, both from owners Ruby and Ted and from the artists and community members who stopped by. We also appreciate the live music that was provided by Andrew Grade.
installation event: uptown vancouver
3 OctWhat a lovely turnout on Friday for our first proper installation event. The community in downtown/uptown Vancouver is very strong and supportive, and we felt it as folks took hearts and hung them all over. Once again, a big thanks to our friend Anni for being our photographer for this event. And, of course, a big thanks to those who participated.

we got a message that someone else found one of these special hearts
hearts: from mari
29 SepToday we did our first big public interactive event and it was great. It was an excellent example of community, friendship, and love. We also appreciated the generous donations of many of the folks who participated – we are well on our way to having gas money to make a trip up to Olympia and Seattle in October with Love is a Radical Act (details coming soon)!
Early on, Mari took one heart and quickly went a couple of blocks down, hung it at a bank, took photos, and came back and showed me. I asked her to send them to me and she was kind enough to do so.
She also took another heart and ended up hanging it further into downtown – I love that she managed to get it hanging on a blank wall.
Thanks everyone! There will be photos of the actual event posted soon. In the meantime, we look forward to the next installation event at Love Art gallery.
a belated thank you
17 SepThanks to a couple of generous friends, last Monday we glazed 193 hearts. And let me tell you how much more I appreciate them now, because in the past week we’ve gone through all but maybe a couple dozen of those hearts. Time to get more cut because we have installation events coming up soon. Thanks, friends!
(he)art bombing – grand central station
16 SepKelly and I decided to take matters into our own hands and do some (he)art bombings around town while we wait for our collaborative installation events to happen at the end of the month. On Friday we went to the lovely courtyard on the southeast corner of Grand Central Station. We were delighted that our friend Anni came along to document the whole thing.

as luck would have it, we ran into Peggy and she lent a hand too
